2005 Futurity Champion Sire: Time Slips Away

Futurity Rules:
1. The purpose of the MWHA Futurity is to encourage breeders to promote the continued improvement of the TWH. Showing your young horses is a great advertisement and as the word "Futurity" implies, it is an investment in the future of your young horses.
2. When first nominating a weanling in a Futurity, you are declaring your intention to show this horse through the Three- Year - Old division. Showing each year is at your option, but annual fees MUST BE PAID to keep the nomination current.
3. All horses nominated, i.e. sires, dams, fillies, colts, etc, must be registered with the TWHBEA.
4. All weanlings must be registered with TWHBEA within six months of birth or registration applied for by the date of the Futurity Horse Show.
5. See separate sheet for nomination forms and applicable nomination fees.
6. A weanling may be from any state as long as the MWHA Futurity Rules are satisfied.
7. A horse may be shown by either an amateur or a professional.
8. All horses must be owned by a paid member of MWHA.

Futurity Prizes:
The value of the prize fund of the MWHA Futurity each year shall be the total amount of money paid in fees, miscellaneous funds and added donations less the administration expenses.
The nominator of the Champion Weanling's sire will receive $40.
The nominator of the Reserve Champion Weanling's sire will receive $20.
When the payment to the above nominators and the administrative expenses are paid, the balance of the prize money will be divided among the following divisions:
Weanlings
Yearlings
Two Year Old Halter
Two Year Old Park Pleasure
Two Year Old Lite Shod Pleasure
Two Year Old Trail Pleasure
Three Year Old Plantation Pleasure Under Saddle
Three Year Old Lite Shod Pleasure Under Saddle
Three Year Old Trail Pleasure Under Saddle

If there are no entries in some divisions then the prize money will be redistributed.
The prize fund for each division will be divided amongst participants in that division in the following manner:

1st Place: 25%
2nd Place: 15%

3rd Place: 12%
4th Place: 10%
5th Place: 8%
6th Place: 7%
7th Place: 7%
8th Place: 6%
9th Place: 5%
If less than 10 entries are exhibited in any one division then prize money will be redistributed.
At the discretion of the MWHA Futurity there can be an 'added dollar' bonus awarded to Champions and Reserve Champions in the Two Year and/or Three Year Old divisions.

Note: Three Year Old under saddle classes may also be open to entries not nominated into the MWHA Futurity. Futurity prizes will be awarded in the order in which nominated horses place in each class.

Nomination of Sire: To nominate a stallion in the MWHA Futurity the stallion must be registered in the TWHBEA stud book and appropriate fees have to be paid for the years that offspring are participating in. It is a good idea to nominate your stallion every year so that all offspring are eligible to participate.

Nomination of Dam: To nominate a mare in the MWHA Futurity the mare must be registed in TWHBEA.

Liability:

No entry is liable for more than the amount paid in to the Futurity Fund. There are no returns of payment. The MWHA reserves the right to reject any entry and to bar any entry from competition for failure to comply with all the conditions of the MHWA Futurity Rules.
Nominations & Fees:
Please see Nomination Chart and Fees for specific cost information.

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO NEXT SECTION TO VIEW "DIVISIONS"

Lapsed Nomination:
You have the opportunity to nominate a horse that has never been nominated or one whose nomination has lapsed as a Yearling or older.
The Nomination Fee Chart shows the cost to re-nominate Weanlings, Yearlings, Two-Year and Three-Year Olds.
The Nomination Fee Chart shows the cost to re-nominate all divisions. Please note:
Nominating costs are lower prior to July 1st. After July 1st the costs increase. Be sure to get your nominations in early to save money.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY JULY 1 OF ANY YEAR OT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE LESSER NOMINATION FEES.

If you are going to nominate a mare and foal, you should notify the sire's owner so that he or she may nominate the stallion as well. The sire's fee is a one time fee for that year's particular foal crop and is good for the duration of that foal crops Futurity career.

Horses nominated in last year's MWHA Futurity: Sire and dam fees will not have to be paid for horses entered in last years Futurity. To nominate for this year's Futurity follow line 1, 2 or 3 on the Nomination Fee Chart for the category that is applicable.

Yearlings, Two and Three Year Olds not previously nominated: Horses that are being nominated for the first time are required to pay the dam fee indicatedin the chart for the appropriate age group, as well as the fee listed for nomination of the horse. All stallion fees must also be paid if the stallion was not nominated the year your entry was foaled (See sire fees). Yearlings should use Line #2 (dam fee is $15). Two- Year Olds should use Line #3 (dam fee is $20). Three-Year Olds should use line #4 (dam fee is $25).
Sire fees may or may not have to be paid. If the stallion was nominated in the year the entry was foaled, that one time fee will apply. If however, the sire was not nominated the year the entry was foaled, the $30 sire fee must be paid. This fee will follow the entry through the duration of his futurity career.
