The Horseperson of the Year designation is currently suspended. When it was in place, MWHA members were encouraged to nominate fellow members for the annual Horseperson of the Year award. This award recognized an individual who continuously supported the MWHA, was active in promoting the Tennessee Walking Horse, and was involved in MWHA programs.
